Terms of Use

Last updated: October 13, 2026

The short version (the full terms below are what count):

1. Agreeing to these terms

SquareCalc (the "Service") is operated by Nord Sky Labs LLC ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and us. You must accept them before using the measuring tool, and by using any part of the Service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you agree to these Terms for that business and confirm you have authority to do so; "you" then includes that business.

2. Who may use SquareCalc

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.

3. What SquareCalc is, and what it is not

SquareCalc is a free tool for estimating the area and perimeter of a property from satellite imagery and for preparing a printable estimate. It is intended for rough estimating only.

SquareCalc is not a land survey, a property-boundary determination, an engineering, architectural or appraisal service, or legal, tax or financial advice. Nothing in the Service should be relied on as any of these.

4. Measurements are estimates

Measurements are calculated from map imagery and from the shape you draw, and they can be wrong. Among other things:

You are solely responsible for verifying every measurement on site before you rely on it, including before giving a price, ordering materials, scheduling work or signing a contract.

5. Your quotes and your customers

You decide your rates, prices and terms, and you are solely responsible for every estimate or quote you create with the Service, including its accuracy, its wording and whether it complies with laws that apply to you (such as licensing, consumer-protection, contracting and tax rules). Any agreement you make with a customer is between you and that customer only. We are not a party to it and have no responsibility for it.

6. Information you enter

Customer and business details you type into the tool are processed in your own browser and are not sent to us. Your business details may be saved in your browser's local storage on your device so you don't have to retype them; you can clear them at any time in your browser settings. You are responsible for having the right to use any personal information you enter about your customers or others. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Google Maps and other third-party services

The map, satellite imagery and address search are provided by Google. By using the measuring tool you also agree to be bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their content, their availability or their accuracy.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Changes to the Service

The Service is free. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, with or without notice, and we are not liable to you or anyone else for doing so.

10. Ownership

The Service, including its design, code and the SquareCalc name, belongs to us and is protected by law. Map imagery and data belong to Google and its licensors. These Terms give you only a personal, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Service as intended. You keep ownership of the information you enter and of the estimates you create.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service or any measurement, calculation or estimate will be accurate, error-free, secure, uninterrupted or available at any time.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, revenue, business, jobs, materials, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, including any reliance on a measurement, calculation or estimate, even if we have been advised of the possibility of those damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to fifty U.S. dollars (US $50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or certain liability to be limited, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless us and our owners, employees and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, any estimate or quote you create or give, your dealings with your customers, information you enter, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.

14. Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Before bringing any claim, you agree to first contact us at the address below and try in good faith to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, or it is permanently barred, and claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action.

15. Ending your use

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access at any time, for any reason. Sections 4, 5 and 10 through 16 continue to apply after your use ends.

16. General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent possible and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to anyone who takes over the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, ask you to accept the updated Terms before you continue using the tool. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept it.
